WT Society Makes Light of Child Abuse Crimes by Portraying them as Cartoons

i commented on this on another thread- but i believe this has enough importance to create a thread about this situation in and of itself.

at the current district convention as you know the wt society released a " sophie & caleb " video allegedly warning parents about the dangers of child abuse.

they don't really use the words " child abuse " in the video - but just say if " someone tries to touch you in a manner you aren't comfortable with " and portray it as a cartoon !

So what does the child say when he is in the car group with his pioneer mom, and the mom and the other sister in the car go inside a return visit and leave him alone in the car for say just 10 minutes with the wonderful MS who is reaching out and giving all kinds of parts at the meetings and who the childs elder dad keeps saying at home how wonderful this MS is and that Jehovah is really using him and Jehovah reads hearts and this MS is just praised and praised by all in the congregation.

So when the MS starts just ticking him and playing just little games with him at first nothing more but keeps trying to be in the car group with his pioneer mom and this little guy keeps hearing how wonderful and great and seeing this MS for himself giving talks and saying that Jehovah is blessing him. This goes on for weeks maybe even months. Just tickling and nothing more just paying around, the child does not really like it and has tried to tell his pioneer mom but she keeps telling the child that he is just making a big deal out of nothing as this MS is appointed by Jehovah's holy spirit and plus she kind of likes having the MS in her car group as a babysitter so she can gossip and chat with the other sisters without her little boy bugging her..

Than one day it leads to more but by than the child is so confused and bewildered there is no way for him to tell his pioneer mom and elder dad, and besides the child knows no one would ever believe him as Jehovah is with this MS. That is all he has heard for the last couple of months of how wonderful this MS brother is.

Filpper my blood presser is so high right now, I just really, really, really want to scream. I just cannot believe the insanity of this stupid so called religion. How anyone can watch this video and not be offended is beyond me yet I know only too well that every JW will.

It is just such blatant insanity.

As far as Tony saying how they take child abuse serious, is that why I was threatened with being DF'ed if I did not agree to take a level 2 sex offender in my car and go dtd with him just because I was an elder wife by the CO and at least one of the elders in my hall?

Frustrating and upsetting is beyond what I am feeling right now.

19 of 21 missed two. The red flag one. I should have probably have gotten that one because I saw so many red flags but I feel like I chose to miss them on purpose. This test said that I just was not able to see them. They just seem so clear to me now looking back and I feel I could have gotten out sooner and that it was my fault that I stayed so long. I was cradle raised a JW it was all I knew, maybe I just beat myself up too much over staying so long. Thanks for the test it was great.

secondly there is an uncanny resemblance with megan(the one who married out of the truth) to the girl in the jeremiah book who married out of the truth.

After the elders deleted my husband as an elder because I was not in subjection enough because I would not take pedophiles door to door in my car I totally lost it. All those's years of pain I went through and that was what it came down to, they just threw me away because I finally stood up to them.

So I insisted that we go to marriage counseling and we took the Meyers Briggs personality evaluation, I had never heard of it before. All those years I was accused of not not having a good heart because door to door work stressed me out so much. All those years I was told I did not care about the people at the doors, etc and I felt like such scum. It all boiled down to when people yell at me and get in my face I just shut down which makes those kinds of people get more in my face which just leads to a horrible circle of stupidity.

I was not bad or stupid nor was it that I did not care about people. I opened our home and had the whole congregation of 90 people into our 880 SF home twice. I fed the whole book study of 20 plus every 6 weeks. We took the mentally ill door to door when none of the other elders would do it. I have worked with fellow JW's that are hearing voices in their heads and shaking and smelling so horrible that I gagged, door to door. It was very, very hard but I did it. I did everything that was asked of me and felt like scum because more and more was demanded of me.

I just could not take men who had raped children door to door. Everything fell apart after that, all those years I lived without my husband while he was out holding the hands of others who apparently needed him more than I did, With all of our money going into car gas for the door to door work. With running on the JW treadmill and it all came down to the fact that I was not in subjection enough.

That was when I insisted we get help. That test opened my eyes and I think my husband's also. I am just not the type of person who can be around loud, opined, angry people. I just shut down. I cannot think. I just cannot process what to say and so in the eyes of the opinionated ones I looked like a stupid fool.

I wish I had known of that test so many years ago, because I believed that I was a stupid fool. That is what I love about this sight I can finally say what was hurting so much. I was always told to keep my blinders on and not to think about what was happening to me. At some point it just all crashes in on you the blinders just come off no matter how hard you try to keep them on.

I know that even on this sight that people can be really mean also but at least it is someone behind a computer screen that you do not know not someone sitting next to you in a car group that you have to be with for two to ten hours trying to get your time in. It still hurts even on this sight. One elder who was really hateful to me when my husband was still an elder told me with disgust in his voice that I ware my feelings on my sleeve, that I care too much.

It is just who I am, I have tried all my life to not be that person not to get my feelings hurt. I just am not able to do it no matter how hard I try, I really wish I could not care but I just do.

I wonder how nerdy Liz would handle what I have been through putting Jehovah first while her husband was gone all the time being there for the congregation while she sits in the car waiting for him after the meetings or the missed anniversary's, or the promises of time together that never happen because someone always needs her husband more. It was not the rosy picture that the video pointed out.

I was the nerdy jw girl and I have lived to regret my life way more than Megan ever would. I married a elder and we went off into the sunset like the nerdy girl and her hubby did to serve Jehovah and it was HELL!

We went to where the need was great for elders. We both pioneered and lived on nothing. The "brothers and sisters" in the hall hated me and made it clear to me that they did. While my husband was out holding the hands of those in need I would met by myself for field service and there just never was a place for me in their car groups. The other young women in the hall went shopping and over to each others homes I was never invited. I was so depressed I seriously thought of suicide most of the time. Sometimes even now I wonder if that would have been the best thing for me to do.

I went to the CO and told him I was just loosing it. I never saw my husband as he was always to busy for me and our marriage doing something for the congregation. I had no friends, no family, no one. One of the MS's wives told her husband that I was never to be allowed in their home and she told me to my face I was one of the most stupidest people she had ever met. Another time when I met for service I was asked in front of the group meeting 'what good I did by even going in service?' The sister who asked me the question told me I was horrible at the doors and she wanted to know why I even bothered going out! This was in front of about 11 other publishers. Not one of the 11 others stood up for me or told the sister to stop attacking me. They all just stood there staring at me waiting for me to answer her. I just wanted to die so bad that day. I did not answer her at first as I was just so shocked and hurt by her clear anger at me. She repeated the question to me with even more anger and I just mumbled 'that I didn't do much good' she told me 'than why are you hear?' Those were the mild stories I could relate about my time in that hall. And that was one of just many halls I was in, none of the halls were kind.

So when I told the CO I was loosing it he turned on me and said I was being selfish. 'That Jehovah needed my husband now and that I could have him in the new system!"

I do not know why I watched that stupid video what is true love because I can't get it out of my head. I wish with all my heart I had been Megan instead of nerdy Liz. At the end of the video I just sat there sobbing because it is all a lie. I lived it know.

Totally amazing. I am so in awe of her, to have such courage to to stand up in front of her class and say those things.

At her age to understand the real truth behind the truth. I remember when I was her age I had this fast food job where I would have to open the store alone with the manger. This man had tried to sexually force himself on me and several other girls. I was really afraid of being alone with him for fear of him raping me and I knew if he did that I would be blamed by the elders. I knew at the time that it was so wrong but I was still so afraid. This man finally did attack a young girl who was not a JW and lost his jog over it.

Now looking back why did not that stupid fear not wake me up. I remember telling a sister about what was happening and true to my fears she blamed me told me it was my fault because I was still working there. I needed the job, I had no family and no one to help me and the job was all I had to live on. I was so scared on so many levels when I just should have had support, but I got nothing from the religion so yes I do believe all of her stories.

I am just so awe of her for being so brave.

How to be happy flopping whoppers part time while pioneering!

i was just thinking the other day why is there not service meeting part like my title says.

i mean that would really be helpful to those who totally believe the no collage thing.

since they do not want anyone to have any education why don't they at the very least try to help them to be happy living a life of poverty with service meetings parts, since everyone would be in poverty if they really listened to the fds.. like a part on how not to be upset when anther brother buys a new car parks it two blocks from the hall so as not to get door dings in it and rides all day in your car and does not give you a dime for gas.

I am sorry blondie for the misunderstanding. No that is what I did while I tried to pioneer. Worked part time at fast food. It was hard and I was so depressed but I thought it was my fault because I did not have enough faith in Jehovah. That was why I was so depressed. I really do mean if they could have parts that teach you how to be happy living poor would be the most helpful. But they don't so it really shows that they do not want you to follow what they are saying is what I meant by my post.

I know the answer of course but thinking about it now I realize that even the GB didn't want anyone to really follow their stupid rules. If everyone pioneered and had no kids, no money, etc where would the religion be. The GB are relying on the kids, of the kids who they told not to have kids to support them now.

It is all so crazy.

Totally Why else would I have put my life on hold, not had kids, buy a home, go to school, live life. I put everything off for the new system. I believed everything that was told to me. If I questioned anything I was told my thinking was skewed. My whole life was the JW world and I thought everyone felt the same.

Now I look back and realize that I was so stupid. If everyone felt the same then why are there JW kids. Why did the parents not pioneer and go where the need was great, go to Bethel like I did. My husband kept telling me to keep my blinders on. One day they just feel off and I realized that no one else bought all the garbage that I bought otherwise there would be no kids at the meetings, no one would own homes, no one would be buying new cars because no one could really afford them living on part time minimum wage like we were.

I was just so stupid to keep my blinders on as long as I did,

this is a sensitive topic for many of us i know, but i am wondering how many here actually gave up the idea of having a family "in this system" for the sake of "kingdom activity or service"??.

Myself also. I always wanted kids. I always thought I would have children. I even had names picked out. But all of that was to wait till the new system as we had to pioneer and be where the need was great and sacrifice our lives now for the kingdom.

It's provably for the best as I did not wake up util my mid 40's and I would have really missed up the children if we did have them, as I was such a stupid devoted drone to the cult.

Kendrick " Letter of Introduction " from Elders regarding Candace Conti Case

as many of us saw in the pbs news hour program and the abc news nightline program the elders from one congregation failed to communicate properly to the elders in another congregation concerning the child molester jonathan kendrick when he moved to a new congregation.

i have parts of this " introduction letter " from the fremont congregation to the oakley congregation elders so you can read it for yourself and decide how irresponsible these wt appointed elders were.

This is what happened in my congregation as you know flipper. I just happened to know that the husband of a new family that moved into my hall had raped his own daughter and molested two other children and had served 20 years in prison for it. While in prison he became a JW and once out married a women with a small little girl divorced her dated my sister and many other women who you guessed it had little girls and then married another JW women with a little girl and they had a little girl together.

I knew his past and yet the elders were furious with me because I knew it. They never received a letter on him from his prior congregation only the wife and daughter did. What's with that? When I told the elders what I knew of his past they told me if it was true they would have gotten a letter about it from his former hall and since they didn't what I was saying did not mean anything to them and I was to keep my mouth SHUT!

I went and got the police and court records myself to prove to the elders what I was saying was very much indeed true. The elders were beyond infuriated with me and refused to even look at the records much less take a copy of them. I had made copies for every elder in the hall. Only the CoBE took a copy and who knows if he looked at it or threw it away. I guess they finally after six months got some sort of letter from is prior hall about him and I swear if it were not for me he would have held some kind of position in the hall.

I was a true believer before all of this happened. I truly thought that they would do the right thing, it was probably the one of the hardest times of my life. The elders, the CO and even the DO forbid me to tell anyone what I knew. No parents were allowed to know period. And as you know flipper I did not keep quiet.

I realized it was not the truth because of this. It just totally broke my heart to see first hand that they do not care about children, it still breaks my heart. How can people do this? How can they go dtd and try to act like they are upstanding people knowing that they are allowing this?
